Sign this statement to say NO MORE to Police Brutality, to say that it's right to stand up against injustice, and how those arrested deserve to have their charges dropped.

71 people were arrested on May 23rd during a non-violent protest against the innocent verdict given in the case of Michael Brelo who, together with around 100 other police, pursued Melissa Williams and Timothy Russell in a car chase and murdered them with a 137 shots. Both Melissa and Timothy were unarmed. This verdict is an outrage and must not be allowed to stand, all the police involved must be held accountable and sentenced for their crimes. There is a national epidemic of police murder of mostly Black and Brown people which demands resistance from those who stand for a morality that respects the humanity of those this system targets for mass incarceration and murder.  We refuse to live in a society where the police are given a green light to brutalize and murder, almost never indicted or made to pay for their crimes, while the people who fight to end this horror are attacked by the police in an effort to stop their protests. And so, while Brelo is set free and as of yet there are no indictments more than 6 months after the police murder of Tamir, 71 non-violent protestors were arrested, many after being corralled  by police into an alley off W. 6th, and then jailed and charged. These arrests will not silence us, and like the murders of Melissa, Timothy, Tamir, Tanisha, Brandon, Michael, Eric, and countless others, they are illegal and illegitimate. It is right to fight for justice and we will resist the charges brought against us as part of advancing the movement to stop police murder.
