Due to the construction project on Huron Church, South Windsor and ECRow/ Ojibway areas, wildlife is being forced out of their natural habitat and into residential areas, including public parks, public roads and closer to people's homes. There are many articles in local papers of people expressing concerns of the habitat of many of these animals including the safety for these animals and families in these areas. Some of the safety concerns include: Coyotes who linger in residential areas putting peoples pets and possibly children in harms way; Deer who are forced to reside along highways, there fore putting themselves as well as motorists in danger.
Our Government has budgeted million upon millions of dollars for the highway and bridge construction project, however they have failed to address the issue of these poor animals who have been forced out of their natural habitat with limited space to re-establish their habitats.
We ask that our local representatives force this issue and ensure a plan of action that will not only ensure these animals safety but also the safety of the residents of LaSalle and Windsor ON. A catch and release program to relocate the animals to an area more suitable and safe, rather than having to harm these animals (as others suggest to shoot a colony that doesn't belong).
It's not the animals fault that we have taken over their habitat, rather it is our duty to replace what we have taken away from them and provide a safe solution for this ongoing issue!
