Without the feeling of safety & the support of neighbors and individual is in a constant state of flight or fight, unless they've succumbed to depression &/or numbing their 'feelings' with drugs. Please continue to reach out to the least of these our earthly family. Provide the youth with a mobile school where they can learn with their peers. Feed them so their brain turns on. Teach them with music & motion. Some respond better to full body learning. Give them a sense of community where they can interact & contribute. Lesson to individual needs. Have High School Seniors help them through the system to get Food Stamps, housing, and other needs. Some lack follow through threw no vault of their own. Senior students will see life in the raw & appreciate their family & what they have & work harder to graduate & go to college. Of course they'd have to be supervised, but it is great for their resumes...

Because I am completely baffled by the frothing 'not here' Ballard residents. What warped morality. Progressive only when it is convenient for them.

Until people are paid living wages, and housing is affordable, ther is NO other option, but to support those who are homeless, by ensuring they have some where to go.

It is important to help those who are disenfranchised and needing support, which includes those who are homeless. The people without homes need a place to sleep and store their belongings where they know they and their belongings are safe, and where they are protected from the elements. Safety and shelter are important needs and the community needs to determine how to provide these to persons who are having trouble obtaining it for themselves. Tent cities are the least that a community can and should do, especially if they have the space and infrastructure to be able to provide it safely to the persons without homes.
