Keep the Lower Stockton Improvement Project Alive
Sign this petition to turn San Francisco's Stockton Street into a permanent pedestrian-transit mall!
The Lower Stockton Improvement Project would transform Stockton Street between Market Street and Post Street in downtown San Francisco into a beautiful pedestrian-transit-bicycle mall. A variant of this idea has been tried on this block for several holiday seasons in a row and the merchants, visitors, and locals love it. Now they want it permanent.

Unfortunately, Rose Pak, a power player in nearby Chinatown who claims she represents the merchants of that neighborhood, is trying to not only stop the Lower Stockton Improvement Project but also any kind of public dialog on the subject. And she has the ears of the powerful in City Hall.

I write to give my strong support for the Lower Stockton Improvement Project to transform Stockton Street between Market and Post into a pedestrian-transit mall. This project would create a wonderful pedestrian-centric oasis in downtown San Francisco for visitors and locals. In addition, it would improve the Stockton bus's reliability, encourage bicycling, and would greatly benefit merchants in the area who already support this idea following the successful Winter Walk holiday initiatives.
The Lower Stockton Improvement Project would be a game-changer for San Francisco. Please ensure that this wonderful project moves forward.
