A Vacant Property Registration Ordinance will help Cuyahoga Falls identify buildings that are dangerous to both FIRST RESPONDERS and the PUBLIC.  In order to keep warm in the winter, many homeless people break into vacant buildings.   Accidental fires are set and have cost the lives of many first responders throughout the country.  This is of great concern for our city, as there is a rise in this population in many areas of Cuyahoga Falls.   A VPRO also helps police pay special attention to vacant buildings as they attract vandals.  We only need to remember the Firestone Mansion fire a few years back in West Akron.  It was set by accident when teenagers broke into the vacant building. This cost the city of Akron thousands of dollars and over a million dollars in property damage.  Thankfully no one was hurt.  LET'S BE PRO-ACTIVE AND NOT RE-ACTIVE Cuyahoga Falls!
