I have been on immunosuppressants most of my life. I work in a community with a very vulnerable population. Stats show an 80%-90% reduction of spread if everyone wears masks. It mskes no sense not to mandate it.

Because it'll save more lives. Unless you have a respiratory issue, a mask should be mandatory,

We know of only a few tools to minimize the spread, one of the most important being masks. We’ve all seen loads of people being uncooperative in this measure, so unless we want to undo all the work we’ve already done to flatten the curve, there is no other choice but to mandate wearing masks in public to keep Edmonton as safe as possible! I refuse to continue to put my family in danger, just to run daily errands, and remain unemployed because some folks are just plain stubborn or refuse to educate themselves on the preventative measures we can take to stem this virus!

Without it being mandated, many people still won't wear them unfortunately.

I’m going back to teaching school in September, and I can’t imagine a positive outcome under current circumstances.
