Johnny Sumner started this petition to Mayor & City Council and

This petition is to represent the people of The Highlands community in Savannah, GA.

We are asking Mayor Eddie Deloach and City Council to deny the request to rezone 1950 Benton Blvd. & 76 Highlands Blvd. in Savannah, Ga. It is currently zoned for PUD-C and should stay within that zone.

We are a community far removed from Savannah as a whole and continually feel left out from SPLOST funds and other community events. There are thousands of residents within this community, mixed with kids of all ages. This community is situated next to Godly Station School (K-8th) with many kids walking along the sidewalks daily. There's currently a large apartment complex being built within 500 feet of this petitioned land. To make it clear, this community and this land is not light industrial, it should not be changed to light industrial. We do not want or need tractor trailers endangering our community and way of life. The current zoning for this location is appropriate and needs to stay PUD-C for the proper development of our community and the safety of our children. We all hope you consider us and our way of life when making a final decision on rezoning this land.
