Seventh Angel Care in the days of the voice of the Seventh Angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Revelation 10:7, the Seventh Angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever, Revelation 11:15.

I lived in a tent from July-mid October with my four kids. We were never displaced, the added stress of that would have been very hard on my mental health.

Unless there’s a safer place for those occupying this area then I’m against taking what little these people have.

The advocates for DisconTent City have made it clear that this space provides these citizens of Nanaimo shelter, safety, security, comradery and some sense of community . Isn’t that what everyone wants? This isn’t an us vs them issue. We are all “US” and these citizens need our help. Let them stay until a real and viable alternative is put forward by our local governments.

They did the same in Surrey B.C. , and it didn't help . They slowly helped the needy . So leave them be and find a solution to homelessness .

It makes zero sense on all accounts. Displacing them anywhere and everywhere is doing nothing but causing more harm. If money is your main concern, and obviously it is, then spend less by working at solutions instead of just making things worse by harassing homeless people, taking their belongings and continuously moving them around. There is absolutely no logic to fighting against vulnerable people that just need help, that just need homes, that just need support, that just need treatment, that just need a little human compassion. Leave them where they are right now. Provide the water, toilets and sanitation station as ordered and get to work on supportive housing, affordable housing and treatment solutions. Even when a homeless person seeks out treatment and eventually gets it, they go back on the streets and nothing will have changed.

It is a failure of both leadership and imagination on the part of the city of Nanaimo to attempt to disperse the residents of tent city without addressing their actual situation. Such an action will only make the issues of the homeless less visible, it does nothing to resolve them.

The homeless need to get into shelters. The city has plenty of money & land to put together portable fenced housing. Get rehab set up for these people. Get them off the street. Then crack down on the pushers.

It's a much better place for the homeless than on every street corner for the elderly to trip over

Displacing them is no solution.
