KEEP ADVENTURE LANDING IN JAX BEACH!

Adventure Landing has been a much-needed staple in Jacksonville Beach for 27 years.  Adults and kids of all ages enjoy the many attractions it offers.  So many memories created there!  There is no other venue in Jacksonville beach that matches all that Adventure Landing has to offer to kids and adults of all ages.  In fact, if you click on the City of Jacksonville Beach Web site and select "Things to Do" you will see Adventure Landing First!

The owner of Adventure Landing sold the property to an REIT in 2010, then new owners purchased the property in 2021.  The new owners want Adventure Landing out at the end of October, so time is of the essence!  I am confident the current Adventure Landing Team wants to stay and continue operations on a lease with the new owners.  The current operator and his team built Adventure Landing 27 years ago, and respected the 6 acres under conservation in their design.  I don’t have the numbers yet, but I can say that many of their 250-280 employees have worked at Adventure Landing for at least more than 15 years!

Having watched the two Jax Beach City Council meetings on this topic, the new owners want to replace Adventure Landing with 400 New homes.  This will not only encroach upon conservation acreage, but will add 400++ more residents to an area where it is not needed.  So far, I've yet to see a comprehensive plan from the developer.  We, as a community, need to just say no to this development!  It will take the developer a lot of time to get the zoning changes, approvals, etc., so there is no way they will be ready to start development in October.  Hopeful the new owner will work with the Adventure Landing Team to, at a minimum, extend their lease as long as possible.
