Mayor Cassetti & BOA of Ansonia - Put our children's future and education first
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
We are petitioning Mayor David S. Cassetti and Ansonia's Board of Aldermen to vote NO on the current BOAT approved budget on June 12, and to hold a public Q&A session for the residents of Ansonia.
There is a large and growing opposition to the current budget passed by the City of Ansonia's Board of Apportionment and Taxation ($600,000 cut to education, amongst other items). This budget is also in opposition to a number of Cassetti's campaign promises, one of which was his promise to not raise taxes - the average tax bill is going up by 10%. Some residents will even see as much as a 50% tax increase once this budget is passed.
We are calling upon the Board of Aldermen to hold a public Q&A session for the people they serve. The residents of Ansonia deserve a dialogue - to ask how their tax dollars are being spent and to have their city officials respond directly to their concerns. WE pay for their salaries, benefits, and pensions. City officials and employees work for their residents, not the other way around.
Please sign this petition if you expect more from Ansonia's city officials and would like to see amendments made to the budget.
