At Promenade Place and The Axis, there are less than 60% available parking spots compared to the number of residents. Students who do not receive a parking pass have to wait upwards of 6 months for one and are forced to park somewhere in the surrounding area. With recent regulations passed to prevent students from parking in residential areas, students started parking at the UTA lots. Since UTA has started ticketing, there is nowhere for students to park. Orem City should require apartment complexes to build and/or provide adequate parking for a reasonable number of students, based on state-wide and local averages of car ownership.
