Reinstate Coach Ralph Johnson to Pway Pop Warner; Don't Play Politics with Pway's Kids!

In the Spring of 2017, Ralph Johnson, a two term member of the Piscataway Board of Education and Pop Warner volunteer coach ran in the Democratic Primary for Assembly in Legislative District 17 on a platform for social, economic and political justice. In the Fall, he was told by the municipal leaders, who are all part of the local Democratic organization, that his volunteer services were no longer needed. Piscataway parents and members of the community near and far are very concerned about the dismissal of Coach Johnson and the impact it will have on our young athletes, on and off the field. We, the undersigned, urge the Township to reinstate Coach Johnson to the Piscataway Pop Warner Football Program on the Mitey-Mite 2017 Team, immediately. A role model and a mentor, Coach Johnson has been an active participant in the Pop Warner program and a Coach for years. It is extremely disappointing that anyone who has shown Coach Johnson’s level of commitment and concern for Pop Warner players would be removed from his position. Coach Johnson always puts our kids first, and Piscataway officials should do the same.
