Fellow Neighbors and Friends of Edmonson Village,

We are dealing with a very dangerous situation in our community.  Some do not understand the devastation of drug activity within a community.  “How does it affect me?  They are trying to make a little money, so what’s the problem? It does not concern me.”  It affects you on every aspect of your questions ranging from gun violence, robbery, and assault to decreasing property values and the overall quality of life in your community.  The Shell Gas station owners are complicit in the illegal activity by not hiring reliable and consistent security to keep the area clear and free.  It is their responsibility to ensure that no one is conducting unwanted busy on their property especially drug dealing.  They don’t care, but we must.  Why do our communities continue to be hub for dangerous and illegal activities?  Why do our families have to dodge flying bullets?  Why do we have to keep burying our young?  Why do we even have to sign a petition to get law enforcement to clean up our communities.  Because EVERY healthy thriving community must start with caring members.  It has nothing to do with rich or poor.  It’s built and harvested from members of a community that simply care.  We want a healthy and prosperous community.  We want our families to feel safe and have better resources.  Drug solicitation and distribution devalues everything.  Let’s use our pens to remove this element.
