Helping Local Small Businesses started this petition to Mayor Brad McGirr and

SMALL BUSINESSES NEED OUR HELP!!!

Countless small businesses are facing EXTREME financial hardship or are being forced to close their doors permanently because the Mayor and City Council of RSM have not taken action! Irvine, Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Santa Ana and many more Orange County cities have issued a ban also known as a moratorium on Commercial Evictions and RSM has not! We have already lost so much during this pandemic, if you haven’t already you will soon lose your favorite karate studio or restaurant or ice cream parlor. We need to come together as a community and do our part by following what so many cities have done and issue a moratorium on commercial evictions. Governor Newsome has already issued an executive order allowing local governments to ban commercial evictions until March 2021 and our local government is not helping those small businesses who have contributed so much to our community.

City council member Anne Figueroa has stated that she is “Unaware of any commercial tenant in RSM facing eviction” showing just how out of touch our local government is to this very real problem. 1 out of 6 small businesses will be forced to close due to this pandemic and with everything they have given us it is now our time to help them. Small businesses are what help shape RSM whether it’s the local pizza place you go to after a soccer match. Or a nice Mexican restaurant you visit on the lake for a date night. Your Yoga or Pilates studio that helps keeps you healthy. Small businesses have given so much to our local schools with donations or attendance at PTA events and carnivals that it is now up to us to give back to them. Sign this petition and help do your part in saving our community.
