Working fulltime at a restaurant here in Chinatown now for 4 years I've seen and had to deal personally with an increase in public safety issues in the year of 2020. It harms the community and our business and harms at-risk individuals. Recently, it has even resulted in murder and other violent crimes. These steps would help prevent that and keep the people and businesses of this community safe and thriving.

I signed this petition because I would like the District to work intentionally with those of us who live, work, and practice our faith in this area to better support those who are under-resourced and unhoused in our community. Crime goes down when people have what they need to survive and thrive, and we become a stronger community.

I live on the edge of Chinatown but have been assaulted leaving McDonald’s this summer and also witnessed a murder as well because of the above I am actually putting my place up for sale and leaving so good luck but I’ll sign the petition but Chinatown has dramatically changed it’s no longer China town some (sort of dark and dangerous abandoned except evil doers) town hate to be that candid

I am signing because Chinatown was making a strong comeback in recent years only to face a serious decline these last 9 months due to robberies and violent crime. This must stop now.

Covid has reduced tourism which has reduced business. When business is loss, then more risk for homeless. We can ask Council to designate safe car-camping and zones of comfort. More community policing, and maybe even community gardens.

I love our beloved city of the District of Columbia. Please help us transform this disheartening and sad existence in our city into what will be an example of thoughtful, labored persistence towards a thriving and enduringly prosperous D.C. that our country, and the world, admires and emulates. God bless the District! JR
