Establish a public dog park in Cumberland, RI
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
This petition is a request to the Mayor and Town Council members of Cumberland, Rhode Island to support and help implement the establishment of an enclosed, off-leash dog park in a centralized, convenient location within Cumberland, RI. This dog park is meant to provide responsible dog owners and their dogs a safe environment to exercise and socialize.
A number of successful dog parks have been established nationwide, including in neighboring towns. Cumberland residents must travel to area towns in order to exercise and socialize their dogs in public, safe, off-leash approved areas. Cumberland residents would benefit from a dog park for a number of reasons including:
-Off-leash play, as can be obtained in designated off-leash areas, helps provide adequate exercise, beneficial socialization and mental stimulation for dogs
-Off-leash areas bring people together, create a greater sense of community and provide a forum for responsible dog owners to share information that can help foster responsible pet ownership
Please consider the number of dog owners and dog lovers that live in and visit Cumberland. Having a dog park available makes our town an even more desirable place to live and visit.
