Shakopee is a great city but it does not have enough dog parks. There are currently no dog parks in Shakopee. You need to go all the way to the Chaska dog park or the Southbridge dog park. I find it ridiculous that we do not have dog parks. I propose we create a dog park with lots of trails in an accessible location in Shakopee.

   Another reason to build a dog park in Shakopee is it will bring our community closer together. People will be able to socialize and so will their dogs. Socialization is proven to lesson aggression. A different reason to build a dog park is that dogs might view it as a safe space and be more calm in general. Studies show that dogs feeling safe will reduce stress and aggression in them.

   I believe that a dog park would be great for the community and it’s dogs. Please sign to help our fur covered friends!
