Enough is enough! Our children need to go back to school! 1.1 million students to be exact. New Yorkers were promised that when we flattened the curve, schools would be able to open with a plan in place. There is a plan in place and yet schools will not open on September 10th as promised.  Our children are being held hostage.

As of August 28, 2020 there were only 108 positive Covid-19 cases in the State of New York and according to Governor Andrew Cuomo, the lowest rate of infection since the beginning of the pandemic in March.  Our infection rate has been lower than 1% for the past 25 straight days. What are they waiting for to open schools?

The UFT is threatening to strike. Teachers say they don't feel safe going back to the classroom.  Have the same teachers quarantined for all these months since March? Have they left their homes to go grocery shopping, or to the beach, or to get a haircut, or anywhere outside of their home? Of course they have.  If doctors, nurses, cashiers, and all other essential workers continued to work during this pandemic, then the teachers can now also return to work.  

We need your help to convince Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo that for the well being of our students, schools need to open! NOW!
