The lack of educators with proper training in dealing with students with depression is a major issue in the world today. Teachers, professors and educators alike shape the future of the children they are teaching. Many students face depression, yet many adults tend to lack recognition of depression in teenagers and children. Raising awareness about mental health to teachers and students also help in the long run. To raise awareness, we should work to create mental health programs in schools.  People may not reach out to teachers during times of emotional instability because they do not believe the teacher can help their problems. Therefore, many students feel like teachers would not be helpful in solving their emotional problems. By making it a policy to have yearly SAEBRS training, which is an efficient tool in identifying students with social, academic or emotional problems it can give teachers an easier time. Pushing for this to happen can help teachers attain accessible resources for teachers to learn more about identifying teenage depression, therefore helping many high school students with their mental and emotional health. In addition to that, implementing at least 5 hours of required mental health content to be taught in all classes should also be approved. If teachers were given SAEBRS training yearly it would be easier for students to rely on them, and if students are given more information on mental health, schools would be a better place for both students and teachers.
