Let HANGAR NYC Open Back Up Again & Sell Their Happiness Inducing Slushies in Queens, NYC.
Why this petition matters

We are Queens based Minority-owned businesses, Don Kew Inc., dba “The Hangar Bar & Grill” located at 11911-11913 Metropolitan Avenue, and Makers Bar & Grill Inc., dba “Hangar Astoria Bar & Grill” located at 24-43 Steinway Street.
We are currently suing, and defending ourselves, against the New York State Liquor Authority (“SLA”) involving its Friday May 29, 2020, Emergency Summary Suspension Orders that effectively closed our businesses doors. Both businesses share a common ownership.
The SLA’s premature and baseless summary suspension orders have truly impeded on our Constitutional rights to Notice and Due Process. Not only did we not have a fair opportunity to defend these unfounded allegations of violating the Alcoholic Beverage Control Laws (“ABCL”) prior to the suspensions, but also we have not been given a speedy administrative hearing to clarify, remedy, or have these charges outright dismissed.
A fundamental American right, no matter what race you happened to be born in, is that all men and women are created equal. Race, amount of wealth, nor any other factor should be used to determine how Justice should be served.
Based on the lack of evidence, the abundance of photographs and eye-witness observations of White-owned businesses actually violating the ABCL alleged against us, and the current social unrest happening throughout NYC, Minnesota, and the world, it is clear the SLA’s position of targeting minority-owned businesses must be dealt with immediately as it is a true thorn in America’s side.
Every day that these businesses are illegally closed, another member of our families, or our employees' families, goes without the means to obtain the bare necessities: food, water, and shelter.
We look forward to vigorously advocating for our rights, and pursuing all available legal actions against the SLA in Queens County Supreme Court, or any legal arena.
