Kevin Johnson started this petition to Mayor of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio
Elderly and Disabled care “Transportstion” services. Are you tired as care providers with the lack of service particularly Access A Ride NYC. Rude workers from scheduling, dispatchers, drivers. Lack of service with delays, care for the elderly and disabled to hospital appointments, therapy, hearings ect. It is so frustrating and sometimes they don’t have a voice. As a care giver/provider this is what they go through daily and it’s draining, frustrating, belittling and inhumane in most parts. We need change, how do they expect to try to get back to normal activities if they can’t even get to their Dr’s visits and therapy sessions on time. When they get picked up late, they miss their appointment and have to sit with hope they will be seen at a later time and most of the time it doesn’t work for the physicians or therapist. As a result it take them back instead of progressing with their health. This is absolutely unacceptable. Access A Ride is a big company part of MTA and not able to deliver. The service is horrible and to the workers that’s the norm and acceptable behavior.

Health care agencies, Medicare, Medicaid insurances need to work with the transportstion companies and implement policies and action plans to deliver better service while they are getting paid regardless. The call centers volume are much to high, keeps you on the phone holding for sometimes 40 mins or more!!!!! I think all boroughs should have call centers and well staffed to pick up a call within 1 to 3 mins and take full control of the call from beginning to end as well call the patient back to assure them of the time they will be picked up. We need more involvement. Get smaller companies jurisdictions to assist with coming on board as well to expedite the overflow of delays.

I started this petition because...
I have too many to even start with.
