I feel our library is nice but can be greater. There is a lack of space & no room for indoor activities. I feel it's not easy for people with disabilities to get in and around the library. The staff work areas are also very cramped.

I absolutely love libraries. They are no more obsolete than hand written notes. Both precious and timeless, libraries are a very important part of a community. I love the smell of books and you just can't get that with an app!

public libraries are very important to the community. We would lose a great resource if we lost our library.

I loved visiting Van Horn as a kid, but it was cramped back then. I've always thought it a shame when libraries don't have enough room for books to be added and reading spaces.

A new larger library is needed, one that is on one floor, that is truly handicapped accessible, one that can accommodate more books, videos, etc. The library should be at least 10,000 square feet. It should be located in the downtown historic district. It should be of conventional design. Perhaps it should be modeled after the Zumbrota Public Library. I shudder every time I climb up the steps of the Van Horn Library, concerned that I might slip and fall, a disaster waiting to happen to someone and it might happen to me. The sooner a new library is built, the better.

I use a wheelchair for movement and the overall current floor plan is extremely tight. Some locations are a bit small and not accessable.

I am an avid reader and I use the library for myself personally and with my children and nephews. We drive in from Oronoco at least twice per month. Many times while I am in town I stop at another local business such as Kwik Trip, Island Market or Rainbow Cafe. The library is a very busy place after school but there is not enough room for children to do homework or find a cozy spot to read a book. Space is also quite limited during story time which, in turn, limits the activities that the library staff can offer the children. A new and improved building would be a great benefit to the community of Pine Island.

It would be wonderful to have a community space to offer classes, scouts, small group meetings etc. plus more community computers for those that don't have the option.
