As a lifetime citizen of the City of Shreveport, I am heartbroken to see the city I have called home and my children have grown up in become what it has. Our mayor has attempted to abandon the city he came home to “save” by running for a higher office not even 2 years into his term as mayor. He has continually made decisions that put our city behind where we were when he took office. The pandemic has only masked these horrible decisions. We need a mayor in this city that stands for all of the citizens of this city, not just a select few. Please sign this petition as a sign of the citizens of our great city coming together to show our local government that we will no longer tolerate our mayor not doing what is best for our city, and that is resigning. The horrific crimes that happened this Labor Day weeekend were only the tip of the iceberg. A juvenile died at the hands of gun violence and the mayor has not spoken a word about anything. This city can’t grow with someone in the leadership role that only looks at our city as a stepping stone. That isn’t in the best interest of our city or it’s citizens.
