Maynooth University do not take women’s issues with sexism, sexual harassment, and sexual assault seriously. The level of complacency means that women in college feel unsafe about attending lectures and being on campus. This should not be happening in the 21st century when we’re just trying to get our degrees.

Since discussing my issues involving sexual harassment on campus, I have received a plethora of messages from girls, both past and current students, who have stated how they have had similar experiences with the college. Recently, I was told that the college is disappointed in me continuously speaking out about this online.

I want to send a message to the college that this needs to be addressed; there needs to be better systems in place to deal with these issues and it needs to be done sooner rather than later, so what happened to me (or worse) never has to happen to a student again.
