This is a community issue that not only one person can solve. Garbage is being thrown all along roads, railways, vacant lots, and under freeways in Los Angeles. This is all too common, especially in Watts and South Central. There is no regard for the cleanliness of our communities and most definitely no regard for a cleanup crew to come and clear these disgusting mounds of garbage. Every day the mounds grow taller and wider, with nowhere to go except within the communities we live in.

The easiest solution would be to call a cleanup crew, however, they rarely come consistently to make sufficient change. However, before we ask someone else for help, we must help ourselves by not adding to the accumulation of trash and try to clean the trash we see. Furthermore, we as a community should form a clean-up crew at least once or twice a week to pick up the trash and advocate for a cleaner environment.

This petition might not be the end all be all of our environmental problems, but bringing it to light will surely raise awareness and hopefully begin the rejuvenation process that our community desperately needs. Thank you for your support and time.
