On 83rd St, between Vermont and Hoover, There is a serious speeding problem. I have lived on this street for about 3 years and I have seen drivers speed down this street on a daily basis. There is people that will use the street as a shortcut to avoid traffic on surface streets. They will also break the speed limit, going as fast as 60-70 MPH in the residential area. The people that live on the street has said that they have seen police officers use this street as a shortcut as well as speeding. There are families with small children and elderly people that live down this street. The speeding is putting them at risk of being hurt/killed. Having speed bumps installed will lessen the risk of that happening and will also put a lot of residents fears at ease. I am hoping that it will stop the reckless speeding and let people know to drive safely at all times on 83rd St.
