Make our schools safe and demand transparency from the administration
There have been increasing incidents of violent outbursts by students at Bristol Elementary School, and Mt. Abe as well, that are disrupting and traumatizing our children. Students and parents are hesitant to send their students for fear of their safety. Teachers and para-educators have made it clear that they feel they are not getting the support they desperately need from the administration. Instead of removing the violent child from the classroom during such episodes, the rest of the class is uprooted to another location while the problem child is allowed to remain in the classroom and destroy things. Something needs to be done to remove these disruptive and unsafe children from the classroom until they can be properly evaluated and assessed by psychological professionals and deemed safe to return. Our kids and teachers deserve to be in a safe environment, and we, as parents, deserve transparency from the administration as to the incidents that are happening that are currently only being communicated via vague emails, or word-of-mouth. We want and have a right to hear a clear and concise solution from the Superintendent, the Principal and the school board. These particular children should NOT be allowed in a classroom with other children or on the playground; they should be removed to a safe, isolated area where they are no longer a danger to themselves or others. It's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured or hurt. These concerns have been brought to the attention of the Superintendent and the principal on numerous locations; parents have sent photos of their young children with black eyes and bruises that were inflicted by other students and nothing has been done. Enough is enough.
