The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 25% of the world's population suffers from a mental or behavioural disorder at some point in their lives, 40% of these people receive adequate treatment. Mental illness is the second-largest disease in England. One in four people in England will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Like a large number, it is difficult for every person to receive the right help, but if we educate families to help their loved ones get over it, this number will decrease.

Family members have different perceptions of this problem and have conflicts in solving it due to the lack of mental health education. Because of different perceptions, many people choose to suffer alone without seeking the help of loved ones, which increases the suicide rate. According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS) in 2019, a total of 5,691 (11.0 deaths per 100,000 population) suicides were registered in England and Wales.

According to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), a poor mental health impacts on individuals and their families, in lost income, lower educational attainment, quality of life and a much shorter life span.

When someone suffers from mental health problems, no one tells you how to help a friend who is suffering from mental illness without getting sick or how to support a family member, to help them get through this journey.

People with mental health know that the symptoms of medications that help them get over this problem can be worrying: from sleeping more than 12 hours a day to feeling scared, panicked, tired and lack of appetite.

Families do not know how to help those who suffer from this problem, without gaining help, receiving adequate information and support from GPs. People suffering from mental health need support from them, and an understanding increase. A better understanding would lead to a decrease in the rate of mental illness of the population.

The family have the most influence on our attitudes, behaviour and successes. That is why they must receive support from specialists to be able to support their loved ones. Awareness of the cause of the illness and talking about it leads to solving it.

The purpose of this campaign is to create a support system that engages family and close friends around the individual who has a mental health problem to receive support at the right time.
