Jordan Saulter started this petition to Mattel

Me and my friend Faith believe Mattel could include a wider variety when it comes to the physical appearance of their dolls. Not just race wise but creating more dolls with disabilities. By disabilities we don’t just mean sticking a doll in a wheelchair that is too traditional. We want Mattel and other doll companies to branch out and show many disabilities that are hidden in the media because they don’t fit into standards like creating a doll with autism and Down syndrome to show that even though you might have a disability you are beautiful and we’re created perfectly. Not only do we want them to show mental disabilities but physical disabilities like such as vitiligo and albinism. Circling back to the race situation I do applaud Mattel for trying to create black barbies but they don’t feel truly black to me and my friend. Many of the black barbies they have created conform to the features of a Caucasian female rather than feature of an African American women. By this I mean I want to see darker skin tones and high yellow skin tones, 4c hair types, fuller lips, slanted eyes, larger noses, etc.
