Following a number of examination leaks, the Department of Basic Education has decided that Mathematics Paper 2 and Physical Sciences Paper 2 should be rewritten.

Examination leaks in South Africa is not a new issue, but rewrites have never been the solution to this problem.

Even though a rewrite could be a solution to the leaks, there is no way to know for sure whether the new exams would be leaked too. A rewrite could also potentially be damaging to students' marks.
