This petition is in regards to Math 114.M02 held by Professor Peter McCalla, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:-12:50 pm. Throughout the semester we as a class have had trouble with maintaining or gaining a passing grade in Math114. The main issue has been due to low test scores. We find that the tests are graded irrationally and we get points taken off for minuscule reasons such as writing on lined paper instead of a blank sheet of paper. We also find that the majority of points lost are from work that is shown but not in the way that the professor would like or doesn't completely understand. Nonetheless, the grading on these tests is unfair and outlandish. As the semester comes to an end with approximately a little over half the class having failing grades we are asking for previous tests to be curved and revaluated.
