Sadely this topic gets over looked to often. This is a reality for a lot of our youth! Unfortunately in 2016 Massachusetts politicians passed legislation protecting sexual abusers under the age of 12 from getting charged with such crimes of molestation or sexual abuse. Doing this makes it so DCF and the District Attorneys Office can’t order families to get help for the victims or the abusers. Most cases of abuse are family members on family members. Sadly there are a lot of parents out there that don’t do anything but brush it under the rug and act like it never happened, thinking the problem will go away because they don’t want to cause a rift in the family. Which is wrong in so many ways. In reality the problem doesn’t go away and the individuals suffering will continue to suffer for the rest of there lives with no help!! 99% of the people living in the street with addiction issues have experienced some sort of sexual trauma from a family member when they were younger and never got the proper help they needed to coupe with the trauma. It’s sickening to know that there are documented cases with DCF that they are doing nothing about and children are being forced to have contact and relationships with sexual abusers. Yes this is happening in Massachusetts and our politicians are allowing it. Call, email or even share this petition with your local politicians and complain!! Something has to be done! There’s kids out there that need their voices to be heard! We together can make a change on this topic and make sure their voices are heard!!
