Jessie Swain started this petition to Massachusetts State House

Currently, in the global COVID-19 crisis, students and teens have been struggling with mental health issues and isolation. As students are returning to in-person learning, it is important that schools respond to student's needs. Currently, the mental health section in the health class curriculum is very short- less than a page long, vauge, and has not been updated since 1999, so over 20 years ago. Re-structuring the mental health curriculum would positivley impact every student and those involved in thier lives. This could help teens know when they need to reach out to get help, and ways to support eachother in a healthy way. This bill would creater a stronger and more in-depth mental health curriculum in Massachusetts schools to give teens the support they need.
