I want the right to choose to be a patient of Alternative Healers, who, for certain health situations, I would prefer to work with, at least initially, vs a conventionally trained MD. In contrast to some MDs, some Alternative Healers, charge more reasonable fees for their services. The high expenses and fees that would be required for Alternative practitioners to pay, would be a hardship for some of these practitioners. I have received help from Alternative Healers, and hope that I and others can continue to have access to these resources.

It is of utmost import that regulations on health based "alternative therapies" not be lumped into a bill who's intent is to address the tragedy of human trafficking. Western medical professions are not in any position to evaluate and "license" alternative therapies that are outside of their scope of practice and training. Having worked with many 'alternative practitoners' for my self and my family, I have appreciate a more wholisitic approach toward my overall health. Trying to 'regulate' these practices within the context of the western medical view on health is foolhardy and will negatively impact not only practitioners but the clients they serve.
It would seem that human traficking and prostitution could be addressed in a way that does not limit the practice of alternative therapies and their clients. The issue is NOT regulation of the therapies....perhaps we should fund more access to mental health care and family supports of children, along with addressing economic disadvantages, addiction and homelessness which directly feed into the issues of prostitution and human trafficking.

Agree, the government should not attempt to regulate therapies it knows nothing about! This would negatively affect alternative therapy providers! This is an attempt to solve human trafficking and prostitution which is a separate Criminal issue.?
