The Muslim population currently in the United States is at a whopping 3.45 Million. It is the fastest growing religion in the world and is the second most populated religion in America. Among my Muslim brothers and sisters, we find that teachers and staff members in the education environment do not give the appropriate attention and understanding to many Muslim students around the world. For example during the holidays Eid al-fitr and Eid al Adha, Muslims are not excused from school and most staff members aren’t educated enough to be aware of these holidays. We believe that the education board of Masssachusetts has failed to give enough time and attention to educate their staff to make their Muslim students comfortable and welcomed in their school environment. With the help of signing this petition and spreading awareness about Muslim appropriation in schooling we can make a difference and help many Muslims in school have a comfortable environment to learn in.
