Bring Betty Home to Her Family

We are writing to implore the US Citizenship & Immigration Service to immediately grant Betty Flores Hijuelos' Application for Humanitarian Parole.

Betty is 82 and has dementia, complicated by diabetes, anxiety, and depression. Her daughter, Renee Saucedo, a U.S. citizen, has been her caretaker for the past two years.

Since Betty's horrifying midnight detention and deportation on Sunday, November 27th she has been living alone in a friend's house in Mexico. Betty is unable to care for herself, and even her housing is only temporary.

Renee should be allowed to continue to care for her mother at their home in Eureka, California until she can arrange for long-term medical care and housing.

Please act with decency and allow this frail, elderly woman to return to the United States, even if temporarily, so her U.S. citizen family may take care of her needs.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

The family, friends, neighbors, and allies of Betty Flores Hijuelos
