Hello. I am the proud father of an empowered, confident, highly intelligent and perceptive 3 1/2 year old comic book fan!! She absolutely loves super heroes and especially female leads. However, I was extremely disappointed to see that the options for my daughter have been altered to not be true to the color schemes of the comic book heroes. I am teaching my daughter to be empowered, strong and confident and that means she does not need “girl” colors added to the true super hero color schemes like purple, pink, light blue, etc. It sets a bad precedent that the boys can have a true depiction of these heroes but girls need to have colors that presumably represent girls. So yes, I have to explain to my 3 1/2 year old why the boys can have what looks like are in the comics and girls have a visual that is socially more “appropriate” or acceptable.

Hopefully, this reaches the ears of advocates for empowering girls to make a change to help prove to our girls that they can be true to themselves without someone assuming Wonder Woman underwear needs a pink facelift!

Girls should have the option to not only wear clothing that is truly representative of these characters (female lead heroes) but other heroes as well. Made to fit girls but representative of the character and not an assumption of a color scheme a girl should have.
