On March 10 2018, after 41 years of being the rock of Chicago, WLUP The Loop was taken off the air. For many people including myself, The Loop was so much more than just a radio station, it’s been a HUGE PART OF OUR LIVES! From the Disco Demolition in 1979 to the annual Loopfest, from Steve Dahl to Mancow, from  Lorelei to April, The Loop is a HUGE part of Chicago history, and to many, what makes Chicago Chicago! It’s helped me through a lot of crap in my life, like when I have lost loved ones. In fact, many of those loved ones would ONLY listen to The Loop when it came to radio.  It has come to my attention that you people at Cumulus have  acquired the Loop brand, along with the iconic call letters WLUP. Therefore, YOU have the ability to bring The Loop back to the FM dial. To many people, such as me and those who have signed this petition, The Loop was the last decent radio station in Chicago, and the BEST radio station Chicago has ever had. What happend in last March was completely unfair to the loyal listeners who have been there along for the whole ride. Your motto at Cumulus is WHERE EVERY VOICE MATTERS! EVERY VOICE MEANS EVERY VOICE! So PLEASE take into consideration how deeply passionate SO MANY people are about a true Chicago icon! The Loop truly meant SO MUCH to SO MANY PEOPLE! PLEASE do the right thing and bring it back!
