Currently, most classes in Martin County use Google Classroom. I personally have been using Google Classroom since third grade, and I am now in eighth grade at Stuart Middle School. All of us students and teachers have gotten used to Google Classroom, especially during last school year, when virtual and remote learning was the norm. In such a chaotic year, what do we get? A complete change in learning softwares.

Recently, Schoology was installed in Martin County School Student's everyday lives. Teachers, and Students would agree: Schoology is bad. Schoology is nowhere near as easy to use as Google Classroom, when it was marketed to teacher's and the district as 'user-friendly'. It is difficult to find assignments, let alone complete them, unlike google classroom, where all assignments are organized by class, and due date. Most of our digital assignments are done through Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Draw. It is extremely easy to find, add, and submit assignments with Google Classroom, which is not the case with Schoology. Focus, the student grade book, is completely distorted with Schoology. Grade averages don't appear for some classes, and images and text are overlapping.

Schoology also comes with many tech issues for students and teachers. Teachers say that they "cannot post assignments for all classes at once, and have to do the same thing for each class" (anonymous), and "That it takes 25-35 minutes a day, to post messages, write the day's agenda, and attach assignments that are already saved in Google Drive". With Google Classroom it took minutes to accomplish the same things. "I took the optional Schoology tutorial, and still don't feel comfortable using it" (anonymous). Often times, students will submit work, but teachers will not be able to view it. There have been instances where the work was deleted entirely.

Many teachers tried to use Schoology at the beginning of the year, but have since switched back to Google Classroom. The main reasons are a lack of user-friendliness, and students refusing to use it.

With all these problems in mind: Martin County School District, Dr. John Millay, George Vogeley, and Katie Bond, think of your students and teachers. Bring back Google Classroom, and get rid of Schoology.
