Stop the closure of Beech Avenue, Effingham for SES Water Works

SES Water are planning to close Beech Avenue in Effingham for six months from March 2018 to October 2018 to replace the water main. This will cause significant impact on the residents of the area as well as the pupils, parents and staff of St Teresa's School. The proposed diversion route is a 10 mile detour via Dorking which could potentially add up to 45 minutes to a journey at peak times

Currently SES intend to work just normal hours to carry out the work - 9am to 4pm; There will be no weekend work.  There will not be evening work.  The work crew will consist of just 3 people.  There will be no double/triple shifts during the holidays.  No considerations will be made during the A level and GCSE examination period.

Whilst this work is important, it is not time critical and the could be scheduled and completed within the 8 week school summer break if SES Water wanted to.

The disruption that this will cause to daily lives is unacceptable.

Please support this petition so SES Water will reconsider this ill-thought out plan.

Thank you!
