Why this petition matters

Started by SAFE For Animals

Mars Incorporated, parent company of brands like M&M’s, Milky Way, Snickers and Skittles, is failing animals.

Mars claims to be committed to helping create a safe, healthy, and sustainable world for its partners and the communities in which it operates. The company maintains it cares deeply about the welfare of animals in its supply chain. Nevertheless, Mars continues to sell products containing cage eggs.

Hens deserve kindness, compassion and the freedom to live a life worth living. Sadly, these gentle birds are being exploited around the world, forced to live in crowded wire cages for the entirety of their lives. Intensive cage farming conditions prevent hens from being able to carry out their most basic behaviours, they cannot move around freely, stretch their wings, bask in the sun or breath fresh air. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

The confinement of hens in cages is arguably one of the worst forms of farmed animal cruelty. So much so, countries around the world are banning cages. Over 1,600 companies around the world have taken a stand against this cruel practice by pledging to eliminate cage eggs from their global supply chains.

Mars has failed hens by refusing to release a global commitment to remove cruel cage eggs from its supply chain. Caring people like you can help make a difference for hens by signing this petition asking Mars to make a public commitment to remove cage eggs from its supply chain.
