I wrote for the Trib and took photos, while a student at Marquette. First you get rid of "the Warriors" and now this? BAD IDEA!!!

I can't imagine Marquette without the Tribune. A great university requires a great student newspaper. Some of the best and smartest people I've known in and out of journalism are Marquette Trib alums. Loved my time there---it's an essential part of my experience

Former managing editor, 2009-'10. The Marquette Tribune was the most valuable experience of my Marquette education. The Tribune is a learning tool and should be run that way.

I'm a Trib alum and feel it's a strong part of MU journalism education.

I've been involved with The Marquette Tribune since my freshman year and during the last three years, I've learned more in the basement of Johnston Hall than I have in classes. Journalism is a craft that you have to learn by doing and that is exactly what the Tribune does.

I am saddened by the way the board voted in the face of difficult decisions. Without adequate space needed, The Tribune would force good stories to be discarded.
As a Marquette alum, who worked on the Tribune, I know the hard work journalism students put into the issues each week. If Marquette wants its journalism to compete, its recent step in cutting the pages is a huge mistake.

Yes, digital is the general direction of journalism these days. Cutting down on valuable journalism content, however, should never be an option. Find an alternative, please.

We need to see the world we're dealing with, from the Marquette Student perspective. Cutting the MU Trib in half not only diminishes that perspective, but reduces the learning and hands on experiences that come from working on a student-run printed newspaper and promotes unnecessary competition among MU students. I am not a journalism student, but I stand with the trib because I recognize it's value and it's importance on our campus. #longlivethetrib

I don't read the online version, instead I read the print paper! It's a wonderful way to stay connected on campus and if ti were online, I wouldn't look at it as much!

The value of actual media work to journalism hopefuls is invaluable and necessary. It would be a shame if their university wasn't able to help provide that experience for them.
