Petition Against Awarding Dr. Hibbs a New Contract at the Present Time

The Marlboro Board of Education has recently given public notice that it will hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of receiving input from the public regarding a new employment contract for the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Hibbs.
Dr. Hibbs current contract, which was awarded at the June 23, 2015 Board meeting, does not expire until after the 2019-2020 academic school year. The Board of Education has not given any reason why Dr. Hibbs current contract must be rescinded and a new contract must be awarded, three academic years early. Further, the Board of Education has not provided the public with all of the material terms of the proposed new contract (i.e., the terms under which the merit bonus is awarded), and therefore meaningful public comments and discussion cannot take place at the present time.
We the undersigned hereby demand that no action be taken at the present time with respect to Dr. Hibbs Contract and that no action with respect to such contract take place until such time as the Board of Education explains why new contract must be awarded three academic years before the expiration of the current contract, and all of the material terms of the proposed new contract are disclosed to the public, and adequate and sufficient debate and discussion on the proposed new contract can be held.
