Stop silencing Syrians. Stand with freedom and against media repression.
On January 3rd 2013, the administration of the social networking site Facebook began, without any warning, closing tens of pages supporting the Syrian revolution.
None of the pages in question advocated violence; all were concerned with civil issues such as humanitarian aid, rebuilding work, provision of aid and civil services, etc.
Syrians have no platform in the mainstream media: Facebook is an essential medium for the people of Syria to tell the world what is really happening there. By silencing the Syrian people's right to tell the world about what is taking place, Facebook is colluding with a brutal dictatorship that has so far killed over 60,000 people.
