Facebook is the most used social media platform in the world, and as such it has the responsibility to create a safe space for all its users. This petition is to ask kindly for FB to provide an additional option that prevents the invasion of people's inboxes (mostly women's), with unsolicited graphic images of male genitalia.
Indecent exposure laws in most countries make it a crime to purposefully display one's genitals in public, causing others to be alarmed or offended. Indecent exposure is often committed for the sexual gratification of the offender or committed to entice a sexual response. There's no reason why exposure in social media should be ignored.
There are numerous ways in which social media can be used in healthier ways. Facebook is already a wonderful platform to communicate with the rest of the world. Let's make it even a better place together. There are already different platforms in which sharing such imagery is appropriate.
