Rod Whelan is the former principal of Kildare Catholic Collage, he made KCC one arguably the most popular schools in the Riverina. He has “year thirteens” (students who have just graduated from high school and are doing work experience at Kildare) working in the boarding house which he has opened up to any students who go to school at not only Kildare but also Mater Dei Catholic College.

Rod Whelan wanted to abolish uniforms and had already made a move against homework; Kildare students only get math and English homework. These ideas obviously had great responses.

He was such a good principal and he made kcc the most successful and proficient high school in Wagga Wagga, he was incredibly successful in changing the lives of so many people.
