Hold UNH students accountable for using racial slurs on campus

On Thursday September 21st, articles were published on an incident involving a sorority at University of New Hampshire. These girls at a party were singing Gold Digger by Kanye West loudly and when it came to the use of a slur (one that has been powerfully and rightfully reclaimed by black people) the white students yelled it out with no remorse. They did so because they were in a safe space of their own, where no one would say anything to them, and they would face no verbal or physical violence for doing something so offensive. There has been no investigation, though there is a video of proof, and there have been no repercussions for these students. Nonblack people, especially white people, NEED to know that this behavior in 2017 will not be tolerated. We want the University of New Hampshire to investigate the situation thoroughly, hold the students accountable and to implement programs to educate their students on race, diversity and social justice to prevent further issues.
