Overturn The Clear Bag Policy For CFISD

The Clear Backpack Policy that Mark Henry wants to implement will not improve the safety of the students in CFISD, and will instead inconvenience hundreds of thousands of students.
The goal of this policy is to prevent weapons from being brought into schools, but weapons or other contraband can be easily hidden within a clear backpack by placing it between notebooks, binders, and clothes inside the backpack. Not only that, but according to the policy, non-clear athletic bags and instruments cases can be brought into school, offering another way for a student to bring in a weapon. Also, because clothing isn't see-through, students can still find ways to hide weapons in their pockets or on their bodies.
Evidently, clear backpacks will not stop weapons from being brought into school nor make is significantly harder to do so. Instead, over 115,000 students will have to purchase new backpacks, collectively spending at least $1,150,000 on something that will do nothing to increase their safety at school. Not to mention clear backpacks are an infringement on the privacy of the students, and their freedom of expression.
