During the pandemic this last year the 2021 exam students are the ones who have suffered, the most in terms of education.

Last year in March when we began the nationwide lockdown which closed schools, an announcement shortly followed concerning exam cancellations, the students affected at this time had only missed a short time of school (2-3 months), where home learning was provided. The issue with this is the current exam students have missed a much more significant time of over 6 months, this does not represent the further time pupils have had off due to the contraction if the virus in their school. During that time off many schools had not been giving an adequate education to the pupils home learning, some schools not providing anything for the pupils to do and others providing work fit for a primary school student.

On returning to school that September students had finally received the long-awaited news of the changes in the exams. The changes were lacklustre, to say the least, this then caused a mental health crisis among students across the country. All of this begs the question of how is it fair for us to sit the exams, that last year pupils didn't have to sit if we have not had nearly the same education as them?
