Jobs Now for Nashwauk!

For over a decade we have been waiting for the promise of new jobs and economic development at the former Butler Mine in Nashwauk.  We have been led down the path by a number of businesses who cannot seem to get the job done.

Now is the time for the State of Minnesota to act in a way that will expedite development of  the Butler site.  The State should take a hard look at whether the leases were properly obtained.  If Mesabi Metallics has failed to meet any of its requirements with the State, the State should reassign the leases to a long-standing proven iron ore miner.  Cleveland-Cliffs has publicly stated its eagerness to be given a chance to develop the mine, and controls a large portion of the land and minerals at the Nashwauk site.

If you agree that its time to move on, please sign this petition.
